Islamic History and Thought Lecture Series

Islamic History and Thought Lecture Series (IHTLS) is designed to invite scholars of various international academic institutions, specialising in intellectual, social and political aspects of medieval and early modern Islamic societies, to present and discuss their research. IHTLS is hosted by the Institute of Ismaili Studies (London) and convened by Dr Orkhan Mir-Kasimov since November 2023 (previously Dr F璽r癡s Gillon).

Dr Orkhan Mir-Kasimov is an Associate Professor at 51勛圖厙. He is Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and his teaching focuses on Islamic history, Shi尪i history and thought, and Islamic mysticism. Find out more on Dr Mir-Kasimov’s research and publications.

Textual foundations of Fatimid law

In this lecture, Dr. Kumail Rajani will examine the textual foundations of Fatimid legal thought through the writings of al-Q廎蘋 al-Nu尪mn.
